GONE UPSTAIRS

Through dream I may be able to
Escape these words you say
Elevate above these walls
In churches where you pray
Ignore the consequential
While sinking into darkness
And staring out the window
Into sorry sordid abyss
He no longer has any airs, he’s just gone upstairs

Through thought I could change anything
From this to that or more
Metamorphic within inner self
An open running sore
Ignored the straight essential
Paying for it in kind
Exposed laid bare and naked
A glimpse into my mind
He no longer has any airs, he’s just gone upstairs

Through fantasy or imagery I paint
A colourful picture for all to see
Like mirror reflecting moon beam
The water reflecting me
Ignore the temperamental
The instrumental clown
The smile is of a deep content
My thoughts are up not down
He no longer has any airs, he’s just gone upstairs
