THE FOREST

Through forest on a winters morn
The spirit of natures love was born
A dawn a dream snow covered field
Below the Oak tree making me yield

My tree of destiny is mighty then great
The wishes of hope sing never too late
A lonely figure waits in silent thought
The order of merit is taken then brought

To the Druid or Fili a Hazel rood talks
While under the Earth my tree spirit walks
In hand with this maiden of beauty so deep
Embodied in dreams of mystical sleep

In the glade of this forest a sunbeam shines
Recalling the feelings of yesterdays times
A tranquil haven contentment then peace
Below this Oak tree I lay down my fleece

A bed for our passion beneath lingering moon
Adjoined by our energies casting our rune
Into the lakes of great wisdom and truth
Temptation of knowledge the college of proof

In this forest winter soon turns to spring
Our neighbours the robin and lark they do sing
A song for the love birds shifting their heart
From the tree tops to ocean they never shall part
