STREET VISION

At this moment I’m invisible
A freeman in workman’s clothes
Paying servitude in taxes
Keeping dirt from off my nose

An animal in a battery farm
Or Orwell’s eighty four
ID cards for your own sake
I hear that savage roar

I stand a namely person
Individual if somewhat free
I’m of interest to the watchers
Who gaze on closed circuit TV

Observe or collect our movements
We are shadows in the dark
Bright memories of a privacy
Now an ember of the spark
